I can hear the difference between american and enlgish but have troubles between enlgish and australian. It’s only when those two are in the same convosation that I can tell the difference lol!

    Accents are funny things :D

    thanks for sharing this video!

  • Anderson is such a phony person. When she does UK things (Bleak House and the BAFTAs) she has an English accent. I know she spent some time in England as a child. Wether she has a real english accent or a real American accent why pretend to be something you’re not. If you’re a brit, then be a brit. If you’re American, then be American. I shudder to see her do a French and Spanish interview. Perhaps she’ll suddenly have on of those accents.

  • Anytime most people go to England, they pick up the accent very quickly because it is all they here!
I love when Hers comes out.
    Very pretty and natural.

  • To be fair, Gillian did grow up in England for many formative years and she had there exclusively for years. So it’s only natural to pick up their accent. Much like people who come from other countries, pick up the American accent being here. Especially if you’re an actor, and you’ve been speaking in a British accent as part of your job for years, it’s only natural to have it start being how you speak. After time back in America exclusively, Gillian started talking like us again. It happens.

  • She was raised in England. Her American accent on the x-files was as artificial as her British accent.
People can switch between accents if they are used to both of them, that’s a linguistic fact, nothing to judge her badly for.
