This is the first episode of Stargate Universe, and we have the incredible pleasure to see Amanda Tapping and Richard dean Anderson again on the sci fi world as the epic characters of Stargate SG1!… great ep, the effects are perfect!

Richard Dean Anderson looks like Dr. McCoy just before he died. I don’t know who the Brit is, but they should kill him off in the first episode.

@minear85 This show is nothing like battlestar galactica, not even close. Galactica had good drama, Universe doesn’t. Its too forced.

@turianspy Yeah it kinda does. I hope season 2 is better than season 1.
I heard there will be be SGA characters along with SG1 characters in season 2 and there will be more action and adventure, probably a bit more humour too so who knows. As long as the drama is not forced like season 1 was.

You need to watch the show not this crappy edited vid. RD anderson is not the star but has some guest spots. The show has a different formula. Its more like battlestar galactica with a political struggle between military and civilian on ship. watch 5 episodes before you throw a rock at it.

i dont get why people have a issue with sgu i my self got sick of the sg1 and sga always having star trek like themes now we have a more seriuos sg show it kinda reminds me of a bsg and voyager in one but the point is if you guys wanna wathc shitty story lines and stuff go ahead ill stick with the sgu adult show that makes you think and guess so sry but this isnt barney anymore you dont like it thats your deal not the shows go back to collage and learn some thyng

@01000001011100100111 That was the the USS General Hammond…a Daedalus Class ship…just like Odyssey, Apollo, Daedalus, Sun Tzu….Its Earth’s so-call type of ship..like the Ancient Aurora Class….and just as powerful with the new Asgard Plasma beam weapon…

@PsychoPoet406 – Dude, I totallly didn’t see it that way. He looks like what he is, an older; though not necessarily uglier.
As for ‘not being bothered anymore’, I feel it’s an extension of his character. Jack O’Neill never had time for b.s. when he was just a Colonel commanding an elite team of four. Now, he’s a THREE star general commanding an entire program. He just doesn’t have time for anything else other than getting the job done.

Those sound like fun ideas!
We’ve only briefly seen a few aliens, nothing that interesting with aliens.
They’ve so far just hinted at interesting ideas without exploring them much. It’s not a horrible show, some of them have been better than others. But come on.

This series leaned too much up against Lost and took way to long to see any other Alien species!
I would love to see that the Ship had landed in the middle of an civil war between 2 planets and they helped 1 race to annihilate the other just to see that they chose the wrong 1!
Later they would meet a race which was fluid and could look like any other they met,
a race which couldnt be seen on close proximity radar when they looked like human and could only be seen face to face!
